Malmo is the south most located of large cities in Sweden. It lies on the coasts of Oresund strait and has moderate maritime climate. Due to influence of the Gulf Stream the city has mild weather conditions with frequent overcast, precipitation and strong winds. Summer daytime averages are in pleasant range between 20 °C (68 °F) and 22 °C (72 °F) while at winter it lies between 5 °C (41 °F) and 2 °C (36 °F).
Considering features of relief Sweden is roughly divide in two parts. Northern part is mountainous with Scandinavian Mountains near to border with Norway and several major uplands. Southern Skåneland is mostly plain.
Most of territory of Sweden lies in the zone of moderate climate. However the country is stretched along meridians and such configuration causes significant variety of weather conditions. The Scandinavian mountains are blocking warm air masses from above the Atlantic resulting colder weather of northern and western regions.
Copenhagen is the largest city and the capital of Denmark. It is located on Zealand Island in the Øresund Strait. The city has plain relief and mild maritime climate with moderate humidity and relatively narrow range of average temperatures. Seasonal changes of weather conditions are smooth yet within given season weather is shifty.
Aarhus is the second biggest city of Denmark. It is located on east side of the Jutland peninsula. Climate of the region is considered as temperate oceanic. Dominance of winds from the Atlantic Ocean and the North sea along with higher altitude compering to rest of the country resulting high humidity. Average annual amount of precipitation reach 722 mm (28.4 inches).
Denmark is southmost located of Scandinavian countries. It is relatively small and plain land. In fact most of its territory lies lower than 50 m (164ft.) above sea level. It has moderate maritime climate with mild winters and cool summers. Rapid temperature changes are not usual for weather in Denmark unlike slow change of seasons, which is completely common.
Most of territory of Denmark lies on wavy planes and low steep hills here and there. The highest natural point is on the Møllehøj Mountain that is 170.86 m (561 ft.) tall. On the other hand Yding Skovhøj Mountain is higher by 1.8 m (3.2 ft.) due to Bronze Age burial mount on its summit.
Denmark has flat relief with rolling plains. It is located on Jutland peninsula and islands in the Baltic Sea. Territory of the country is relatively small. Features of relief and size are causing rather similar weather conditions in whole country.
The capital of Finland is located on southern edge of the country on coasts of the bay of Finland. Naturally it is warmer than northern part of Finland, but the city is warmer than other localities of same latitude. Thermal influence of the Baltic Sea and the North Atlantic Current softens winter in Helsinki.
Tampere is second biggest locality of Finland. It is located in southern portion of the country in lands of numerous relict lakes which were formed at ice age due to movement of prehistoric glaciers. Tampere lies on border of humid continental and subarctic climate. The city is divided by the river that flows between two nearby lakes Näsijärvi and Pyhäjärvi.
Northern location of Finland along with closeness of the Arctic Ocean are forming cold climate of the country. Hence northern regions of the country have coder and more humid continental climate while southern portion lies within the zone of transition from maritime to continental climate (due to influence of the Baltic Sea).
Most of territory of Finland is plain taiga. There are many rivers and streams along with several large and numerous smaller lakes. Plain relief prevails however there are some mountains in Finland. Halti Mountain is the highest among them with elevation of 1324 m (4344 ft.) a.s.l.
Finland is northern country. Cold weather conditions of it were formed from its global location and closeness to the Barents, the Norwegian and the Baltic Seas. Northern lands of the country lie within the zone of continental climate and they are colder than the rest of Finland.
The capital of Ireland has temperate maritime climate with mild seasons and no rapid changes in temperature. The city is located in on eastern coast of the island. Annual amount of precipitation is lower than in western part of the country and approximately equal to London.
Weather of the Irish Capital of Food is rather similar to climate of the rest of country. Humid and warm air masses from above the North Atlantic Current are brought by western winds. Those air masses are resulting significant precipitation of over 1200 mm (47.2”) per year and narrow range of temperatures.
Ireland is located on the island of same name to west from Great Britain. The relief of the country is hilly lowlands on lime geological foundation bordered by coastal cliffs. The highest point of Ireland is Carrauntoohil 1038.6 m (3407 ft.) in northern part of the island. About 10% of territory is peat-swamp.
Ireland is located on island in northern part of the Atlantic Ocean with all implied features of weather. Western coasts of the island are warmed by air masses and waters of the North Atlantic current. But with warmth comes humidity so annual amount of precipitation in western Ireland reaches 1600 (63”) mm while in eastern and central areas there is up 1000 mm (39.7 “).
Like most of the United Kingdom Manchester falls under influence of Atlantic currents. The city has temperate oceanic climate with mild season and blurred transitions between them. Manchester is located close to the Pennines and the mountains are interfering flow of air masses resulting higher humidity than in other localities of the country.
The city is located close to the eastern side of the Pennines and shares main features of climate with rest of the United Kingdom. Sheffield lies on hilly ground and open to many winds. In addition even at driest month it rains occasionally here. December and January are usually the rainiest months. Snows are rare here and snow cover does not stay for longer than couple of days.
The country is located on the British Islands in the Atlantic Ocean and its climate forms under influence of this massive body of water. Significant humidity causes frequent fogs and precipitation. Intensity and frequency of rains and snow rather depends on features of relies than on season. Most of precipitation falls over western portion of the country while eastern is drier.
