Seasons in Texas

Texas is the second biggest state in US. It is situated in southern part of the country on border with Mexico and washed by the Gulf of Mexico from south east. Plains and uplands form majority of relief of Texas. Only couple of westernmost districts is mountainous. Relatively flat relief and influence of many factors form variety of weather conditions of the state.

Seasons in Louisiana

Louisiana's humid subtropical climate makes this state the best for relaxing, enjoyable outdoor pursuits. A lot of warmth, sun and short, not very cold winters. 

Seasons in Idaho

The Pacific Ocean has a significant impact on western Idaho, where it is warm and humid. The central and eastern regions have a continental climate.

The climate in the western and eastern parts of Montana is different. The west has cool summers and mild winters. This part of the state is affected by the proximity of the Pacific Ocean. But the state has no direct access to the coast.

Wyoming is considered a predominantly mountainous state. The average height above sea level is ~6500ft (~2000m). It is characterized by a continental semi-arid climate.

Most of Nevada has an arid climate. Several rivers throughout the state make it semi-arid. It has the largest number of deserts in the US. The most famous among them is the Mojave Desert. To the west is the large Lake Tahoe.

Utah is one of the mountainous states of the USA. The climate is desert to semi-arid. The proximity of the Gulf of California has a significant impact on the weather. 

Seasons in Colorado

Colorado is the state in western central portion of the United States. It is one of the Mountain States. Western half of the state is occupied by ranges of the Rocky Mountains while eastern half lies on the Great Plains. Climate of Colorado varies greatly due to presence of mountains and plains and influence of oceanic air masses.

Seasons in Arizona

The climate of Arizona differs between the plains and the northern highlands. The main part of the state is dry. In higher mountainous areas, the climate is alpine to continental. The locals joke: “we have two seasons – hot and less hot.” 

Seasons in New Mexico

The climate in New Mexico is arid or semi-arid depending on the area. At higher altitudes, there are patches of pleasant alpine climate in the northern and eastern parts of the state.

The climate in Oregon, due to the wide variety of climatic zones, cannot be described in one word.
