Winter in Idaho

In winter, fog is a bigger problem than snowfall. High snow cover occurs only in the mountains. Sometimes high trails are impassable due to snowfall. On the plains, temperatures rarely drop below 27-42 °F (-3 °C +5 °C). In mountainous areas it is freezing cold, 15-32 °F (-9 °C 0 °C). There is more rainfall and snow cover reaches 5-15 inches  (120-380 mm) deep.

Winter activities depend on where you decide to spend your time. In the cities of Idaho, it is worth strolling through museums and theaters. National parks and reserves offer skiing and ice fishing.
