Northern third of the country is plain with sets of low gentle hills. It is washed by the North Sea in west and by the Baltic Sea in east. Central region lies on foothills of the Alps while southern portion is mountainous. Mentioned features of relief affect climate of respective regions.
Amsterdam is the capital of Netherland it is situated in northwestern part of the country on coast of Ijsselmeer bay where it receives waters of the Amstel River. In addition city is connected with the North Sea and river Rhine via dedicated canals. Amsterdam is called “the Dutch Venice” because of amount of canals in the city.
Rotterdam is second largest city in Netherlands. It is located at the mouth of the Nieuwe Maas River in the South Holland province. In addition it is large mechanical engineering center and the biggest port of Europe and to 2004 was the world’s biggest port.
Sweden is the country in Northern Europe. It occupies eastern portion of the Scandinavian Peninsula and is washed by the Baltic Sea. Sweden is the largest Scandinavian country and fifth biggest country of Europe. Northern and western parts of Sweden are mountainous and the rest of country’s territory is relatively plain.
The country lies in the zone of temperate climate however local weather conditions are influenced by closeness to the North Sea and plain relief. Quarter of territory of Netherlands is below the sea level. In general summers there are warm and rainy while winters are mild yet wet and windy.
Netherlands is the most populous country in the Europe except some smallest states. It also has dense river net. Most of the country lies on coastal lowlands. Almost half of its territory is lower than sea level. Only in south eastern part of the country there are some higher grounds. Significant portion of territory of the country was added by drying marshes and coastal waters.

It has maritime, cold, windy and shifty climate defined by warm North Atlantic Current and cold East Greenland Current as well as drifting Arctic ice that accumulates near northern and eastern coast of the country.

The city has Mediterranean climate with wild dry winters and warm rainy summers. Average annual temperature is 18 °C (64 °F) and hardly ever drops below freezing.
Valencia is third most populated city of Spain. It is situated on banks of the Turia River where it flows into the Mediterranean Sea. Valencia lies of east coast of central part of the country. It has subtropical Mediterranean climate with short mild winters and long hot and dry summers.
Seville is the city in southern part of the country. It is the fourth most populated city in the country and large center of industry, trade and tourism. Due to elevation of 7 m (23 ft.) above sea level and global position Seville is the second warmest city of Europe.
Palma is situated on southwestern coast of the Mallorca Island in the Mediterranean Sea on coasts of the bay of same name. The city itself lies on plain lands with altitude of 13 m (42 ft.) above sea level and bordered by Serra de Tramuntana mountain range.
Weather condition in continental part of the country and its island are different. Most of its territory lies in the zone of subtopic Mediterranean climate however only in couple of regions it has no special features. In addition climate of the country is influenced by the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
Spain is the country in south-western Europe and partially in Africa. It occupies most of the Iberian Peninsula. Around 90% of its territory is mountains or highlands. Spain is washed by the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. Single significant plain region is the Baetic Depression in south of the country.
