Seasons in Morocco

Morocco is former French colony located between Atlantic Ocean, Mediterranean Sea and Atlas mountains on north-west of Africa. Diversity of weather conditions of Morocco is undeniable and is the result of geographic features of the location. Weather is formed by cold Atlantic currents, impact of the Sahara desert and mountains. So specific weather is depending on certain location in Morocco.

Seasons in Algeria

Algeria is the largest country on the African continent, 80% of which is occupied by the largest desert on earth - the Sahara. The length of the coastline of Algeria is quite impressive too - as much as 998 km.

Seasons in Tunisia

Tunisia is stretched from north to south. Such configuration forms variety of climatic conditions of the country. North part of the country is in the area of tropical climate while central and southern regions lie in the zone of arid climate.

Seasons in Egypt

Egypt lies in two climatic zones. Coasts of the Mediterranean Sea have subtropical weather conditions and the rest of territory is in arid zone. The country is considered as suitable for tourism year round but with less and more comfortable periods.

Seasons in the Canary Islands

Canary Islands have subtropical climate with warm weather through whole year. Weather of islands is formed under influence of dry African and wet Atlantic winds, cold Canary Current and anticyclone over Azores. In addition Canary Islands are mountainous and weather conditions vary with altitude. Weather in southern islands is drier than in northern. Difference of weather is noticeable even on one separate island i.e. Tenerife.

Cape Verde is the small republic located on archipelago in West Africa of the same name. It consist of 10 greater island and several small each with its own features of relief and climate. However they can be roughly grouped by types. Flat lands and sand beaches are prevailing in eastern part of the country while western islands have mountains with valleys and volcanos.

Seasons in Nigeria

The Republic of Nigeria is located on a plateau, having a height of 600 meters above sea level. A narrow strip of swampy terrain extends along the Gulf of Guinea, and the country is divided into large climatic regions separated by river valleys.

Seasons in Ethiopia

Whole territory of Ethiopia is located in equatorial and subequatorial climate zones however altitude variety brings some features to weather conditions of the country. For example in Ethiopian Highlands average daytime temperature is in range between 25 and 30 °C (77-86 °F) year-round and there is significant amount of precipitation.

Seasons in Uganda

The country is located near to equator however there’s no excessive heat. The climate is softened by relatively high altitude and influence of big bodies of water. Thus annual range of temperatures is narrow. Averages of January, the warmest month, are 17 °C to 24 °C (63-75 °F) while at July temperature hovers between 16 °C and 21 °C (61-70 °F). In alpine regions winter temperatures may go below 0 °C (32 °F). Highest mountains have ice caps.

Seasons in Kenya

Kenya is the land of “eternal” African summer. The country is crossed by equator so climate here is rather stable with minor seasonal changes. Yet formally there is two rainy seasons. First, “season of long rains” lasts from April to June and the other one, “season of short showers”, is between October and December. However precipitation is possible even at the driest time. Usually rains occur at noon or late evening.

Seasons in Tanzania

Tanzania is located close to equator in South Hemisphere, hence its’ climate have two main features. First: minor changes of temperature through a year and second: seasons here are kind of reversed at least from prospective of moderate climate zone of North Hemisphere.

Seychelles Seasons

The Seychelles is truly a paradise of the world, where you can enjoy excellent weather all year round. But there is a small difference between seasons on these islands.

Seasons in Angola

Regions distant from the ocean have equatorial trade-wind climate with pronounced dry and rainy seasons. In central regions of the country rainy season lasts from October to May. Amount of precipitation at this season reaches 1500 mm (59”). Dry part of a year is between June and September inclusive. September and October are the warmest months. Temperature in plain areas reaches 29 °C (84 °C) and on plateau (90% of territory of the country) it is 22 °C (72 °F). At cold June and July temperatures in plains and highlands are 22 °C (72 °F) and 15 °C (59 °F) respectively.

Seasons in Zimbabwe

The climate in Zimbabwe varies from subequatorial in the north to tropical in the south. In the south-western regions of the country and in the lower regions in south-eastern Zimbabwe, the climate is a warm steppe.

Seasons in Mozambique

Climate of the northern regions of Mozambique is similar to equatorial and southern portion of the country has tropical trade-wind type of weather conditions. Rainy season lasts from November to May. Droughts and devastations tropical cyclones are frequent.

Seasons in Madagascar

Weather conditions in Madagascar are related to tropical monsoon type of climate. Thus change of seasons here is expressed in changing of directions of winds and amount of precipitation rather than in temperature. There are dry season with nominal period between May and October and rainy season which lasts from November to April.

Seasons in Eswatini

The Kingdom Of Eswatini (until 2018 as Swaziland) is the small kingdom with total monarchy sandwiched between RSA and Mozambique. Climate of the country is transitional between subtropical and tropical. Annual amount of precipitation varies from 500 mm (20”) to 1400 mm (55”) depending on location. Average summertime temperatures are between 20 and 24 °C (68-75 °F). Winter temperatures are 12-15 °C (54-59 °F). October is the hottest month. Once in about 20 years it is even snows here.

Seasons in Papua New Guinea

The climate of New Guinea is quite diverse, because most of the island is mountains with towns and villages at 2000-2500-meter height. And the air here is pretty cool. The temperature difference with the coast can be 15 degrees.

Seasons in Fiji

Fiji's climate refers to the oceanic, tropical. It is characterized by softness, high humidity and mostly high temperatures. This feature is due to the location of the state. Because Fiji is placed near the equator.

Seasons in Greenland

Greenland actually should be called “Whiteland”. This is the biggest island in the world and 81% its territory is covered with ice. Weather conditions in coastal areas are shifty. Average temperature at July in Qaqortoq is 10 °C (50 °F) and in Nuuk is 8 °C (46 °F). At January there is -8 °C (18 °F) and -11 °C (12 °F) respectively.
