Heard Island and McDonald Islands: Seasons and Climate

The islands are lying within so called furious 50s – stripe of oceans along 50 degrees south latitude with strong western winds and frequent storms. Therefor the weather around the islands isn’t welcoming with stormy seas and relatively low temperatures. Climate of Heard Island and McDonald Islands is considered as maritime arctic with prevailing western winds.

Due to cold ocean waters the islands has maritime climate and harsh unpredictable weather. Annual range of temperatures is between 0 and 7 °C (32-45 °F). Annual amount of precipitation is 1500 mm (59”). The islands are located in so called furious 50s where constant western winds are blowing the life out of every visitor.

Seasons in Moldova

Moldova is a small country with typical climate of north Black Sea’s shore areas. The sea makes a huge influence on the weather here. Season’s weather differs a lot. Although there is no much difference in weather at various areas of the country. Cold winters and hot summers are typical for Moldova.

Seasons in the North Caucasus

North Caucasus is mountainous region with moderate continental climate. Due to altitude weather of the region is quite patchy. But overall summer and winter are mild without excessive heat of severe frosts (except alpine locations).

Siberia is a huge territory occupying the Northern part of Asia. Also Siberia occupies about 60 percent of Russia's territory, which is about 10 million square kilometers. The whole vast territory of Siberia lies in three climatic zones: Arctic, subarctic and temperate. All of Siberia is divided into two main parts: Western Siberia and Eastern Siberia.

Seasons in Yakutia

Yakutia occupies a large part of the basin of the Lena, Anabar, Olenek, Indigirka, and Kolyma. Its climate is sharply continental, with considerable territory lies beyond the Arctic circle. In Yakutia, the biggest in Russia annual temperature differential: down to -60 °C (-76 °F) in winter, in summer up to +30-35  °C (86-95 °F). Hot weather is short-lived, mostly at the end of July. Summer short – 2.5 months. The winters with little snow, and few irregular rainfall in summer.

Russian Far East is vast territory of 11 Russian territorial subjects with low population density in Asia. It is 41% of total territory of the country. Comparing to European Russia with its 115 millions of population and 20% of total territory of the country Far East seem to be uninhabited.

Seasons in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan is the land with age-old history and peculiar customs. Variety of traditions is accompanied by rich flora and fauna, natural sights and spectacular landscapes. In same manner climate of the country is diverse too. Yet main features across all regions allow considering it as continental. Long cold winter is in contrast with dry hot summer.

Seasons in Kyrgyzstan

Kirgizstan is very sunny country. Difference in climate, depending of a certain region, is very huge. Seasons are clearly degenerated.

Seasons in Uzbekistan

There is a continental type of climate in Uzbekistan with cold winters and hot summers. Average level of precipitation per year is 100 mm and in the north-west is 800 mm in the Tashkent region. The main part of precipitations falls in winter and spring. Except the highlands areas, where the air temperature is lower, snowfalls can be observed very rare.

Seasons in Tajikistan

The climate of Tajikistan, like in any mountainous country southern latitudes, is very different: subtropical in low valleys, gently warm at the middle-high mountains areas and eternal cold in highlands.

Seasons in Turkmenistan

It is continental type of climate in Turkmenistan. Droughts are typical for the country. The temperature amplitude ranges from -22 °F to 122 °F.leve of precipitations in the north and east areas is 80 mm per year, in mountain regions up to 500 mm.

Seasons in Afghanistan

The country has subtropical continental climate with significant differences across its territory. Annual and daily temperature ranges are wide too. Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan is located on 1830 m a.s.l (6000 ft.a.s.l.) thus it has warm summers and cool winters with annual averages between 25 and -4 °C (77-25 °F). In Jalalabad (550 m; 1880 ft. a.s.l.) weather is almost subtropical with 30 °C (86 °F) at June and 2 °C at January (36 °F) with minimums at -20 °C (-4 °F). While in Kandahar (1070 m; 3500 ft. a.s.l.) climate is milder and more humid.

Seasons in Georgia

Bright sun, white snow and green slopes of beautiful mountains are spectacular blend. And they all are in Georgia. Weather conditions of this country allows to experience all three seasons within single day. Snowed mountains and their foggy slopes, blossoms in foothills and hot summer on coasts of the Black Sea they are there waiting for visitors. Locations with blooming oranges and breath-taking cold air are often divided only by 100 km (62 miles).

Seasons in Azerbaijan

Climate of Azerbaijan is diverse. The country has nine climatic zones from alpine to subtropical. Such diversity of weather conditions is formed under influence of geological features of the country. Main factors are maintains and Caspian Sea.

Seasons in Armenia

Although Armenia is located in the zone of subtropical climate actual subtropical weather is observed only in southern edge of the country. The rest of the country has mild continental weather taking into account mountainous relief. This feature causes unstable and patchy nature of weather conditions in Armenia.

Seasons in Cyprus

There are 300 to 340 sunny days per year in Cyprus. Whole climate of the island is considered as useful for health. Partly because of such climatic condition average life expectancy in Cyprus is 10 years longer than in the rest of Europe.

Seasons in Lebanon

Lebanon is located on the east coast of the Mediterranean Sea and has wide variety of relief. Those features are forming climate of the country. Overall weather conditions are considered as Mediterranean climate with regarding of altitude related features of weather of certain regions.
