Seasons in Aarhus

Aarhus is the second biggest city of Denmark. It is located on east side of the Jutland peninsula. Climate of the region is considered as temperate oceanic. Dominance of winds from the Atlantic Ocean and the North sea along with higher altitude compering to rest of the country resulting high humidity. Average annual amount of precipitation reach 722 mm (28.4 inches).

Yet in general weather in Aarhus is similar to climate of the rest of country. Except spring comes here bit earlier due to geological features of the region and presence of significant body of inland water i.e. Braband Lake.

Spring in Aarhus

Spring comes to the city according to calendar. Daytime average reaches 10 °C (50 °F) at March and 15 °C (59 °F) at May. At night it cools down to 7 °C (44 °F). Light and gusty winds from the sea bring clouds and precipitation. Yet spring weather can make some surprises such as light frost or snow over recent bloom.

May in Aarhus is exceptionally pleasant with sounds of birds, meadows with fresh grass and first flowers. Summer in Aarhus

Summer in Aarhus is rather rainy with gradual increasing amount of precipitation. Temperature is in most comfortable range where it is neither hot nor cool. Daytime averages are 15-17 °C (59-62 °F) with occasional leaps to 23 °C (73 °F). However nightfall brings rapid cool down to about 13 °C (55 °F). At summer amount of daylight hours reaches its maximum values of up to 17.5 per day.

Winter in Aarhus

Temperature averages of cool winter months are in range of -2 °C (28 °F) to 8 °C (46 °F). Significant humidity in coasts results occasional fogs and snowfall.
