Lots people from the whole world think China has with a year-round hot climate. However, China is a huge country with ranging climatic conditions. This country combines a diversity of climatic zones. Zhongguo is the most common informal name for China. The term is translated as "Middle Kingdom" what deeply reflects its substance. There are nearly all the existing climates. It is almost impossible to choose the season which would provide you with good weather conditions over the territory of China.

Hong Kong is a highly dynamic crossroads of Asia, which is also a gateway to mainland China. Special administrative region of Hong Kong people's Republic of China for more than a century and a half it combines the cultures of the West and the East. Hong Kong has always lived by his own laws, not noticing the arising of amazing paradoxes.

Macau is located on border of tropical and subtropical climatic zones. However due to its small territory climate is considered as maritime subtropical with cool winter and warm rainy summer. Winter average is 12 °C (54 °F) yet actual daytime temperature is higher. It is about 15 °C (59 °F). Cold winds common in eastern part of China rarely reach Macau thus seasonal shifts of temperature are smooth.

Beijing is the capital of PRC. It is situated close to northern edge of North China Plain. From north and west there are protecting the city from air masses from above Mongolian deserts and steppes. The Great Wall of China stretches along northern border of the city. Climate of the region is formed under influence of East-Asian monsoons and Siberian anticyclones.

Shanghai is the world’s most populous city and the biggest port. It is situated in Eastern China at estuary of the Yangtze River on coast of the East China Sea (the Pacific Ocean). The Huangpu River crosses the city from west to south east.

Guangzhou is the main city in South China. In addition it is the third most populated city in the country. The city is situated close to south-eastern coast of the South China Sea at estuary of the Pearl River. There are some slight variations of relief, but their influence on climate of the city is minor.

Chengdu is the city in south-western China. It is the center of Sichuan Province. Chengdu is situated on western edge of vast plain of the Sichuan Basin at elevation of 500 m (1640 ft). The city has humid subtropical climate. Qinling mountain range protects the city from cold air masses, so local winters are milder than in some other southern localities.

Shenzhen is the city in southern China. It is situated on eastern side of the Pearl River Delta and to north from Hong Kong. It is rapidly developing in production and other directions. Area occupied by the city once was hilly, but nowadays only three hills left while rest of territory is plain. Shenzhen lies on the border of subtropical and tropical climate zones. It is rainy and warm.
