Winters are mild; temperature rarely goes below -20 °C (-4 °F). Summers are moderately warm with around 23 °C (73 °F). Rapid changes of weather and atmospheric pressure are common here. Summer in Lviv

Summer weather in Lviv is like old rumbly tram seen through a drop of rain that about to fall off green leaf. Most of time air has close to perfect temperature of 22 °C (71 °F). It may reach 29 °C (84 °F) but occasional showers are there to ease heat. Summer days are perfect for every activity in the city in around it. Hiking in mountains, sightseeing or cultural leisure are completely available, though nights are chilly even in summer with their average of 12 °C (53 °F).

Autumn in Lviv

Air starts to cool own in late August and become really cool by the end of autumn. In general Lviv in autumn is rainy, though summer shows itself too. But any weather can’t spoil beauty of the city. Bursting colors of foliage is on slopes of local hills. They float in the air, lie of pavement and somehow sneak into souls, so it is impossible to stay indifferent.

Dry numbers say that daytime temperature decreases from 13 °C (55 °F) in September to 3 °C (37 °F) in November. But the city somehow manages to become warmer in metaphoric way even when daily amount of sunlight shrinks to couple of hours. November nights may be as cool as 0 °C (32 °F) or slightly cooler.

Winter in Lviv

Winter in Lviv is some sort of special magic. Despite state of weather it grants pure feeling of home. With progression of the season temperature goes below freezing and at some point, when snow cover tends to stay for long, happens this. Warm city lights reflect from white snow and fall on walls of short buildings. And each small cloud of steam produced by breathing is soaked with this unique play of light, blends with mumbling crowds and sounds of traffic to create this cozy and festive felling.

Averages show reduction of daytime temperature from 1 °C (34 °F) to -1 °C (30 °F) and from -4 °C (25 °F) to -6 °C (21 °F) at night. In fact it is occasionally much cooler, down to -20 °C (-4 °F) from time to time. But fear not, Lviv will warm you even in coolest of days.
