Croatia is the small country on western coast of the Balkan Peninsula. There two part of the country. First is inland between Slovenia and Serbia, Hungary and Bosnia. Dubrovnik is the town in southern part of coastal Croatia. Jacques-Yves Cousteau mentioned coastal waters of Dubrovnik as the cleanest part of the Adriatic Sea. Land and weather there are marvelous too. Dubrovnik is one of the most popular tourist destinations of Croatia.

The town has Mediterranean climate with mild rainy winters and hot and dry summers. It differs from other Mediterranean resorts by strong winds and frequent thunders. Springtime averages re between 20 °C (68 °F) and 28 °C (82 °F). During summer afternoon heat may reach 30 °C (86 °F) or even higher, but at night air cools down to 21 °C (70 °F).

Autumn is warmer than spring by couple of degrees, but much rainier. Winter averages are above freezing, though night frosts may occur too. There is around 13 °C (55 °F) at afternoon and 7-8 °C (44-46 °F) at night. On top of it Dubrovnik is one of the sunniest of European towns.

Porec

Poreč

Porec occupies a small outlet of land of northern coast of the Croatia in the Adriatic Sea and some of the nearby inland territory. The city is interesting in terms of variety of architecture. It has touches of the Roman Empire, Goths, Byzantines, Austria-Hungary and so on.

Pula

Pula

Pula is the large city situated on western side of tip of the Istrian Peninsula. The city was founded by ancient Greeks as their first colony, than it fell under reign of the Roman Empire. Many historical structures of those times are still standing in Pula. Also, Brijuni National Park is located on islands to west from the city.

Rovinj

Rovinj

Similar to other resorts of western Croatia Rovinj has Mediterranean climate. Seasons are pronounced there. Spring starts with daily range of temperatures between 13 °C (55 °F) and 4 °C (39 °F). In summer it grows to 28 °C (82 °F) at afternoon and 18 °C (64 °F) at night.

Autumn starts with gradual increasing of rainfall and reduction of temperatures. By the end of the season daily averages are dropping down to range of 13-7 °C (55-44 °F). November is the rainiest month with around 100 mm (3.9”) of precipitation through 10 rainy days. Winter drops daily temperatures to 10 °C (50 °F) at afternoon and 2 °C (35 °F) at night, but it is drier than autumn.

Makarska

Makarska

Makarska is the central city of the Makarska Riviera. It is located on coast of southward “tongue” of Croatia. Autumn starts with greater amount of rain that will grow to the middle of winter and reduction of temperatures. Beginning of the season is pretty warm, but eventually temperature drops to 15 °C. Vrsar

Vrsar

Another resort of western coast of the Istrian Peninsula is situated between Rovinj and Poreč near the Lim Fjord. It is small medieval city includes range of picturesque islands. Coast here consists of rocks, concrete platforms and pebble beaches. Also there is one of the world’s biggest nudist complexes on Koversada Island.

Naturally nights become warmer too. Progression follows from 4 °C (39 °F) in March to 18 °C (64 °F) between July and August.
