Sometimes you can hear that there is no winter in South Carolina. Spring starts very early, and in autumn, warm days can last until October.
The state has a humid subtropical climate. In the southeast, the coast of the state is washed by the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Tropical storms and hurricanes can come from this side. In the north of the state, there is the Blue Ridge, a place with the most snow and cold in winter. The mild and warm climate makes South Carolina an excellent choice for vacation and travel.

Spring in South Carolina
Spring in South Carolina is reported by the blooming of the white dogwood in Oconee Bells and other national parks. In March it is already warm, around 56-70 °F (+13 +21 °C). The time from March to the end of May is considered the best tourist season. At this time, there is little rain and a lot of sun, but not too hot. In April, there is a high probability of tornadoes.
Spring water in the Gulf of Mexico is still too cold for swimming. This is a great time for a sea cruise. It's already warm, but there are still no crowds of tourists and prices are quite low. Summer in South Carolina
Summers in South Carolina are hot and very long. Average temperatures are 80-95 °F (+26 +35 °C). In June, it is cooler, from 70 °F (+21 °C). The daytime heat persists until September. At night, it gets cooler by 5-10 °F. The maximum rainfall occurs on the coast of the state. Thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon. In the Midlands region, summer is delayed for almost the entire year.
In the heat of summer, tourists flock to cooler mountain areas. The best spot for swimming and sunbathing is Myrtle Beach and the Outer Banks. For family vacations, South Carolina has many museums, zoos, and parks. There are many historical sites in the cities of Fort Sumter and Charleston. Be sure to try the fresh seafood.

Autumn in South Carolina
The long warm autumn in South Carolina is a great time for tourism. Temperatures have long been reluctant to drop below 80-57 °F (+26 +14 °C). Fall is the peak hurricane season. In November alone, temperatures drop to 47-69 °F (+3 +20 °C) in the north of the state to 37 °F (+3 °C). November is the driest season with the lowest rainfall.
In early fall, we recommend visiting Long Creek in the northern part of the state. This is a place where warm days will last for a long time. Mountains, forests and lakes at this time are strikingly picturesque. This is a great time to capture the warm days of the campsite. Harvesting times in cities are the occasion for many festivals.

Winter in South Carolina
Winter in South Carolina is short and warm. Sometimes it snows, but it lingers for a long time only in the mountains. It usually snows with sleet and melts quickly. The average temperature is 29-56 °F (-1 +13 °C). The higher the mountains, the cooler. In the Blue Mountains you can go skiing or sledging. Hilton Head Island is fairly warm throughout the winter at 40-60 °F (+40 +15°C). The Highlands region is considerably colder at 26-44 °F (-3 +6 °C).
Winter sports can be enjoyed at Cesat Head State Park. The snow cover lies longer here. In the city, the best holiday idea is to try craft beer at the festival. On the coast, you can find a golf course even in winter. Kiawah Island Golf Resort has some of the finest courses in the world.
