Seasons in Delaware

In Delaware, good weather is more common than bad. The continental climate is mitigated by the proximity of the sea and each of the four seasons is attractive to tourists.

Summers are hot enough, but beaches and swimming help to cope with the heat. On the coast, temperatures differ by about 10 °F from the plains on the continent. Winters are mild, there is little snow, thunderstorms are possible in summer and late spring.

Autumn in Delaware

Autumn in Delaware has three damaging factors - warm sunny September, golden October from falling leaves and November clear from the first night frosts. Many recommend choosing this time to visit the state. It's no longer hot, with temperatures gradually moving from 79 °F (+26 °C) in September to 30-39 °F (-1 +4 °C) in November.

With the arrival of autumn, the rains disappear. Brandywine Valley is painted in bright golden-red tones. The hills of New Castle County are striking in color. There are many festivals around this time, such as Sea Witch or Apple Scrapple. We recommend hiking to Trap Pond State Park, famous for its slender cypress trees.
