Seasons of the Year Nature of Maine
Maine is a state in New England, that is bordered be New Hampshire on the west and Atlantic Ocean on the southeast. It has a coastline with lots of rocks, rolling mountains, forested areas and picturesque ocean views. The climate in Maine is humid continental. Summers here are hot and humid, winters – cold and very snowy.

Maine state is a place with breathtaking views and beautiful nature.
Acadia National Park
It is a beautiful coastline area, that is surrounded by big forests, crystal lakes and small streams. There are a lot of hiking trails, that located between big stones and also, if you have a desire, you can go on kayaking!
Boothbay Harbor
Definitely a place with interesting history. In the past it was a shipping port, but now it is a popular place to go fishing, have a river or even ocean cruise. In the downtown you will find a lot of restaurants, that serve seafood and shops, that sell antique possessions and also learn more about Boothbay Harbor.
Monhegan Island
This is a small island with untouched nature and unique fishing villages. That is why a lot of artists like to make paintings of this area and tourists visit this island.

It is a villa, but really unusual, that is built in Italian style in the middle of 19’s century. Most of the furniture is original and unique. The details of interior are very refined.
Old Fort Western

It is an old wooden building, that was built in 1754 year near the Kennebec River. These Fort is the oldest stockade fort. Inside you would be able to see some exhibitions about history of these area and of the place too.
Bay of Fundy
It is an amazing place with breathtaking views, that id really popular among tourists. Big untouched forests, islands and special parks for walking. It is a best place to spend a day alone with nature.
Camden
This place is a must to visit in Maine. It has big history and incredible beauty of nature. Rocky mountains, blue lakes and also different adventure activities will make your visit to Camden unforgettable.
Flora of Maine
Maine state has diverse nature and a lot of beautiful plant spices. You can see and amazing flora everywhere, especially in some special places, that were mentioned in the “Interesting places in Maine”.
The native trees of Maine, that you can see almost in every town are: Moosewood, Hazel Alder, Yellow Birch, Gray Birch, Winterberry, Staghorn Sumac, American Elder, Mountain Holly and Scarlet Elder. Native landscape plants are – Mugo Pine, Red Pine, White Oak, Cedar, White Poplar, Austrian Pine, Juniper and more.
Maine has a lot of forests on the territory. Oak forests occupy big areas. Red oak, white oak and black oak are the most common trees in the usual forests and coastal forests too.
Pine-oak rocky woodlands occupy most of slopes and hilltops. Pitch pine and Virginia pine are also very common trees in this area.
Flora of Mine is varied and, of course, beautiful. Everyone can make sure of it by going there and see with own eyes, but, I promise that it won’t leave you indifferent.
Fauna of Maine
Maine has really varied wildlife population, because of large territories with forests. Most common spices of animals are – gray squirrels, tailed deer, red foxes, rattlesnakes, snails, coyotes, black and brown bears, raccoons and beavers.
This state is one of the few states, where you can see a moose, but you need to know exactly where to look. You can find these animals in the Kennebec Valley and Maine Higlands.
In Maine you can even see a whale! Where? Go to Maine’s coastline and prepare your phone to make photos of this big creatures.
Coastal islands in Mine is the only place in USA, where you can see puffins. This small and really nice birds like to hang out in the state.
Also there a lot of small black bears in Mine’s wild forests. They are really quite, shy and also the will run away even before you see them.
The nature of Mine is really different, interesting to explore and, no doubt, beautiful and unique. There are a lot of amazing places to visit and things to see. So, go outdoors, come to Mine and make sure of it, you won’t regret, because the beauty of nature, flora and fauna are the most amazing things on the Earth!
