Seasons in Georgia

Georgia has a wonderful climate with four distinct seasons. The main part of the territory is subtropical, but in the extreme northeast it is oceanic. 

Warm spring, long summer, mild autumn and short winter without severe frosts. Spring in the state is decorated with flowering dogwood and azaleas. It snows several times a year in the north of the region. This is a great place for outdoor recreation, hunting, fishing.

Spring in Georgia

If you want to see blooming Georgia, take a trip in the spring. At this time, it is warm and a little humid here. Average temperatures in March are between 60 and 73 °F (+15 +22 °C). This is a very good figure for this time of year. Sunny days a month are about two-thirds. April pleases with warmth and abundant flowering of trees. Peach orchards are especially good. By May, temperatures rise to 76-80 °F (+24 +27 °C) Thunderstorms and tornadoes are likely in spring.

For bathing, the water is still cold. Tourists enjoy the view of flowering trees and the famous white dogwood. The fishing season in mountain rivers and hunting in the plain is in full swing. Georgia is surrounded by 15 barrier islands. The Golden Islands are considered the best for a beach holiday. Summer in Georgia

Summer in Georgia is a low tourist season due to the heat. June is a pleasant transitional month, while July and August are especially hot. Average temperatures in summer are 82 to 92 °F (+28 to +33 °C). During the warm season, tropical storms and tornadoes occasionally occur. They come from the Gulf of Mexico.

Many during this period go to rest in the mountains in the northeast of the state. It's a little cooler here and you can have a great time camping. If you want to sunbathe, it is worth leaving the beach in the middle of the day and looking for sun protection. Summer in Georgia is considered the season of peaches, thanks to which the state received its second unofficial name.

Autumn in Georgia

Autumn is considered the high tourist season in Georgia. The weather is warm and dry until November. Temperatures gradually shift from 85-80 °F (+27 +29 °C) to 60 °F (+16 °C). However, the first cold days will not begin until November.

In September, the time for picking apples begins, then the turn of corn and pumpkins comes. Harvest festivals starting at this time last until All Saints Day. In early autumn, you can have a great time on the beach. We recommend flying a kite. They are very popular in the fall, when hurricane time is over.

Winter in Georgia

Winter in Georgia is a pleasant time to relax in the absence of crowds of tourists. From December to January, temperatures can be surprising, ranging from 34 to 65 °F (+1 to 18 °C). Sometimes frosty nights. In February, Georgia's winter ends.

The coldest place is Dalton in the north of the state. Breathtaking mountain views can be found in the Helen and Dahlonega districts. The best places to relax in the mountains are Brassstown Bald and Springer Mountain.
