The Bahamas are known as “Paradise on Earth” for a reason. Of course azure ocean water, white sand and palm trees matters but main reason is in annual availability of vacation. Caribbean hurricanes almost always pass this location and most of the year is blessed sunny time.

However there are periods of tourists’ influx to the islands. So called “high season” is at period between November and March. Rest of year is calmer. Summer is hot and humid with temperature that may reach 33 °C (91 °F) but it never drops below 17 °C (63 °F) so literally any time will be good to travel to the Bahamas.

March-May in the Bahamas

June-August in the Bahamas

Summer brings showers to the islands. They are typically heavy and fast but have pronounced tendency to occur at night. Many visitors consider them as one of features of Bahamian charm. Yet there is actual concern about probability of hurricanes driven by trade-winds. Probability is tiny but nevertheless it is.

Some tourists may find blending of heat (33 °C; 91 °F) and almost 100% humidity as completely unbearable. In that case (for example having health conditions) they should choose another time to visit the Bahamas. As a benefit vacations on the Bahamas are 30% at summer than at the middle of autumn.

September-November in the Bahamas

Autumn is the most pleasant season on the Bahamas. Heat decreases to about 29 °C (84 °F) and rains have pass. Equatorial winds with Gulf Stream create these wonderful weather conditions. Autumn is the best time for quiet family vacation on the Bahamas.

September may be rather hot month so voyage should be assigned on one of latter months. October is a bit cooler and provides all fishermen with ability to catch blue marlin. November is even milder in terms of weather conditions. Also it means beginning of “high season” so prices will be higher comparing to another months.

December-February in the Bahamas

Three winter months are the best time to go to the Bahamas. Tropical air masses tend to change their flow at winter but weather is wonderful anyway. Altitude of the islands is low so winter may seem a bit windy. But there are no frequent rains or raging storms and humidity is moderate so overall state of weather is pleasant.

December in Bahamas is great time to combine seaside vacation with visiting numerous nature reserves with variety of unique Bahamian Flora and Fauna. January is the coolest month of a year with about 25 °C (77 °F). At February all activities are still at disposal of visitors but nights are cool so you would want to pack some light sweaters.
